We celebrate our greatest asset as we ask more members to join the effort

Our club has long supported the Rotary Foundation, or TRF in Rotary speak. Since the first gifts were made by us in 1947, our club members have donated more than $400,000 to this remarkable charity. Here are some details.

  • 18 members or 12 percent of us made a donation in the last year.
  • Ten of us have signed up for Rotary Direct to make a small donation every month.
  • 58 of us are Paul Harris Fellows, meaning our total lifetime gifts exceed $1,000.
  • Another 12 have given over $100, making us sustaining members of TRF.
  • 28 of us have given $2,000 or more making them multiple donors. One member’s gifts exceed $9,000.
  • Three club members have made provisions in our estates for large one-time gifts of $10,000 or more.
TRF was begun in 1917 with $26.50 left over from the national convention. But it really took off in 1947 after the death of founder Paul Harris when more than $1 million was raised to start an endowment. The Rotarian's November cover story is a comic-book styled account of the Rotary Foundation's beginnings.
