Cedar Valley Makers, Inc. is non profit with the mission to promote collaborative learning, creative design and manufacturing for people of all ages and skill levels.

It provides education by giving access to tools, machines and training inside the “makerspace” and by promoting and planning educational events which can forward scientific thinking, learning and entrepreneurial spirit for the valley..

Our speaker, John Burnett, is a professional engineer working at TDS Automation.  He has a BS and MS mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.  John has been working since July 2013 to organize a community of "makers" in the area.  Through a partnership with the local libraries, he has led a workshop using the electronics modules littleBits for kids ages 10 to 12 as well as a joint exhibit at the Cedar Valley STEM Festival.
