Today we'll hear from Rotary Exchange student Gabriel after a special presentation on agriculture from Union High School FFA students.
 
Keep the following Rotary dates in your head or in your planners:
April 10 – Senator Joni Ernst will join us for our regular April 10 meeting.  Please let Phil or Katelyn Pedersen know if you plan to bring a guest as we would like to have an accurate head-count.
April 17 – Food Bank Volunteer Day – Phil will be sending an event registration, please register if you plan to attend as we will be ordering catering from Chick-Fil-A.
April 28 & 29 – Rotary District Conference, Hilton Garden Inn, Cedar Falls.  Please register at http://www.rotaryseminars.org/
May 18 – Hops & Grapes, 6-9 PM at the Isle Casino Waterloo.  More details to come!!!

Strictly Business 2017
 
Join fellow Rotarians TOMORROW at our regular meeting location for Strictly Business! Come find the Rotary booth and pick up your name badge to wear as you stroll around 60+ booths.  Engage your existing contacts and new contacts in a conversation about Rotary and see if they'd like to attend a meeting. Strictly Business is the annual Cedar Valley business expo. This event is an opportunity for Alliance & Chamber business owners, organizations and professionals to showcase their products and/or services in a trade show format. This April 4th event, held at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center, attracts 400 business representatives. Attendees gain a wealth of knowledge while learning and viewing the newest products and services offered by the 75 exhibitors. A business seminar is offered prior to the expo.

2017 Seminar: The Value of Customer Service
Hy-Vee has built their success for the past 86 years by providing great customer service at all levels of their organization.  Hy-Vee’s Recruiting Specialist, along with the Director, Retail Training, will discuss the importance of customer service in business and the values that are key when it comes to taking care of customers – no matter how you define them.

RYLA Nominations Due April 14
 
 
Any current Sophomore or Junior in High School who is interested in attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Conference in Grinnell from July 16-21 should contact Luke Jenson at ljenson@mrs-lawfirm.com by April 14. The Waterloo Rotary Club sponsors two students at RYLA, a conference focused on providing foundational leadership skills for teenagers, by paying for the cost of the conference.
