Volleyball Luncheon Nov 13th
Another inspiring program to honor student athletes - this time we host the area's senior volleyball players, coaches and families. Our keynote speaker is Abigail Breitbach Robertson - Don Bosco Volleyball Head Coach since 2012. 2010 Graduate of Don Bosco High School - four year starting setter for the Dons, 1st team All Conference Selections '07, '08, '09.  Lead the team in qualifying for the state tournament in 2009  - earned 1st team all state honors and was a member of the 2009 class 1A all tournament team.  Abby was our club's choice for MVP in 2009. Played one year as a backrow setter for the Wartburg Knights in fall 2010 before a foot injury ultimately lead her back home to Gilbertville and inspired her to transfer to UNI in December 2011. From there, went on to spend four years coaching a combination of youth softball and club volleyball between 2011 - 2014. Graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in August 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion. Currently works full time as a substance abuse counselor at Cedar Valley Recovery Services in Cedar Falls.

Abby is passionate about the interconnections between the environment, social relationships, exercise, nutrition, and mental health.  She feels strongly that all coaches are responsible for educating and challenging our youth to value self care, appreciate a daily routine that balances family, academics, extra curricular practice, and downtime, followed by a decent bed time, and finally, instilling a work ethic in kids that seeks to achieve growth as the ultimate outcome.
