Rotary Foundation Update

June, 2019

Don Meyer, District 5970 Foundation Chair
Dear Rotarians,
Thanks for all the interest your clubs have shown in our District Grant and Global Grant program.  As Rotarians we are people of action, we are people of passion, and we are people of compassion. Through our involvement with District and Global Grants, we have fun living that out as we work to make our communities and the world a better place to live.  We’re receiving new District Grant applications each day, and we have three new Global Grants in the works, including a Global Scholar application.

Just a reminder that District Grant applications are due June 15. There’s still time to submit a grant request!

Bellevue Rotary Club Supports Disabled Children with District Grant Project

Children with developmental disabilities in the Bellevue community now have a playground with equipment made just for them.  With funds from their 2018-19 District Grant, the Bellevue Rotary Club purchased and installed specially-designed playground equipment for physically and mentally challenged youth.  We congratulate the Rotary Club of Bellevue for serving the needs of their community, and their youth.

Final Reminders!

Remember June 30 is the deadline to:
  1. Meet your club’s Annual Fund goal for 2018-19.  These are the funds that return to our District to be used for District Grants.  Your club’s giving to the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation also qualifies you to apply for a District Grant.
  2. Meet your club’s PolioPlus goal for 2018-19.  Please take advantage of the extra 2 to 1 match from the Major Donor in our District.  That matching opportunity expires on June 30.
  3. Make an individual, personal gift to the Rotary Foundation.  You have then invested in the good work of the Rotary Foundation.  It keeps you engaged in Rotary.  Why? Because you will want to watch what your investment accomplishes!
Thanks for your part in making a strong push to the finish line!
Yours in Rotary,

Don Meyer
District Foundation Chair
