Program for May 22
Jenni Stevenson will talk about what fun and exciting things are going on at Hick's Place, awarded Tourist Attraction of the year in May 2016.  We thought this would be a great program to kick off the summer!!
 
Wanna Go Play Sunday?
 
The entire family will enjoy a community picnic from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21 at Clay Street Park, Clay Street between 15th and 16th streets, in Cedar Falls. The event is a celebration of small neighborhood parks and a fundraiser for a park improvements, including a new pavilion. 
Bring lawn chairs or spread a blanket on the lush lawn to eat a grilled lunch as you listen to a live band. 
• Enjoy burgers, bratwursts, and hotdogs
• Listen to live music by Stackhouse
• Play games
• Meet mascots Stubby from Marcus Theaters and Bucky from the Waterloo Bucks
• Bid on silent auction items
• Buy a $20 ticket to the 50/50 raffle and win up to $5,000

Grilled sandwiches and music are free; free-will donations will go toward the park renovation project. To date, about $12,500 has been raised toward the $40,000 goal. 
The Rotary Club of Cedar Falls and the Rotary Club of the Cedar Valley have joined with neighborhood residents and business owners to support the fundraising effort. 
“The Clay Street Park project is a perfect example of our community coming together to preserve our history and to provide a safe and accessible neighborhood park for residents of all ages,” Tom Blanford, Fundraising Chairman for Rotary Club of the Cedar Valley and Fourth Ward Council Member.
