July, 2009 - The Rotary Club of Grundy Center, which our club helped establish in 1923, has folded after 85 years, a victim of declining membership and lack of younger blood.

With only a dozen members left, many of whom head south in the winter, and with nobody interested in serving as president again or launching a membership drive, members agreed to resign their charter.

It became so difficult to find leaders, that the president had served five terms and when he refused another, the end was at hand.
