Selling Pie at RAGBRAI is Easy as Pie

RAGBRAI will be right outside our back door. The Downtown Waterloo Rotary club has voted to take advantage of this fundraising opportunity.

     We're planning to have a pie booth set up at Lincoln Park. The booth fee for this location is a mere $80.00 and at this time the only other booth we will be competing with is Papa John's Pizza. Bands will be playing from 11 am to 6pm and bus transportation will shuttle riders to this location from the official RAGBRAI campsite near the Isle Casino Hotel.

     By raising your hands at Monday's meeting, many of you agreed to make a donation of at least $5.00 to purchase pie/ice cream and/or agreed to volunteer to help staff the booth.  You can bring $5 or more to the next meeting, or sign up to help here .  Proceeds will support Operation Warm.  Let's make this winter warmer for our local children in need.

$2 A Week Changes Lives

Worldwide, Rotary Foundation Matching Grants are saving and changing lives. Since the first Matching Grant  was awarded in 1965, more than US$335 million has been distributed through more than 30,000 grants.    

This is a tremendous achievement for Rotarians, who have made these grants possible through their generous donations to the Annual Programs Fund , and dedicated their time and talent to help carry out projects that put Service Above Self.

By giving $100  a year -- less than $2 a week -- to the Annual Programs Fund through the Every Rotarian, Every Year  (EREY) initiative, Rotarians become part of the Foundation's mission to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
