The latest enhancement to the downtown, Mark's Park, will be previewed
Paul Huting, Waterloo's director of Leisure Services, will bring us up to date on Mark's Park, a waterpark with a splash pad, which will be located atop the flood leeve near the Center for the Arts and close to Expo Plaza.
The park is named for Mark Young, the son of Rick and Cathy Young, was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2003. Funding for the park was received from the Young Family Foundation,Black Hawk County Gaming and Vision Iowa.

New Location June 7

Good news- our next meeting is at Landmark Commons
The Five Sullivan Brothers Center will be busy on the 7th setting up for the VGM conference, so mark your calendar to go to Landmark Commons located at 1400 Maxhelen Blvd., east of Hammond Avenue and just south of Highway 20.
Did you volunteer to work at the VGM conference?
If so, please show up at Landmark Monday at 11 AM on the 7th for your training and to get your special shirt. This is important, so don't forget.
Birthday table moved
Because we are meeting at Landmark on the 7th, the birthday table celebration for members with birthdays in May and June will be moved to June 14.

Club's finances remain tenuous

Ten-month report shows slight loss
The monthly financial report for April shows a net loss for the year of $13,243 but much of the loss is due to reveune in the previous year to cover expenses this year.
With those expenses reversed, the net loss to date was $2,942. And revenue in May and June could reduce the loss at year-end.
The report also includes a final accounting for the Itzhak Perlman concert last November. It shows that revenue exceeded expenses by $2,935. That amount was split by the four area clubs resulting in a refund to the club of $733.85. A complete accounting is available from Kelli.

Two more new members join Rotary

Memberships approved at May board meeting
The new members are Micheal L. Robinson Sr, president of Heal the Family, proposed by Ken Allbaugh; and Maria Benham, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa. In the 11 months of the Rotary year 20 people have joined our club, but 19 have left including four by death.
Please make an effort to meet Michael and Maria and welcome them to the club.
