
Chad Hammar has been the Executive Director for NAMI Black Hawk County for less than a year. He comes to Waterloo with 16 years of leadership experience in non-profit after a long career in banking. He is a recent transplant to Waterloo and looks forward to being engaged in the community.
Mental health resources should be available to everyone, and we’re committed to making that a reality. Our free classes offer guidance on mental wellness and coping strategies, our educational presentations provide insight and understanding, and our support groups create a space where individuals can connect, share, and heal together. In addition to our speaker, Past President Cathy Nicholas recently attended a conference on RYLA and will be giving us an update on this opportunity. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a program that enhances leadership skills for high schools students. There is an annual Conference During the summer at Grinnell College. This is an Excellent opportunity for Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors to broaden their leadership skills. District Rotary funds help the students to attend.
