Rick Coleman
KWWL Sports Director

Rick will join us to speak about the upcoming college football season.

Rick Coleman was born in Waterloo and grew up watching KWWL-TV. He's always been a sports "junkie," and some of Rick's early idols were Dan Rather, Bryant Gumbel, Brent Musberger, Max Robinson and KWWL's Ron Steele.

While in high school, Rick began working part time for KWWL-TV and radio, and was the very first McElroy Trust intern back in 1981.

Rick received his degree in Communications Studies from the University of Iowa in 1986, and began his career as a general assignment news reporter with KWWL. His natural love of sports, combined with a strong interest in communications, made his decision to move into sports reporting an easy one - and keeps him busy!

Rick is currently the KWWL Sports Director. He anchors KWWL's Friday Night Heroes and Athlete of the Week programs.

During Rick's free time he loves spending time with his family. Both parents, a brother, and two sisters live in Waterloo. He has four children -- two sons and two daughters. Rick also was recently married in Vegas!
