The Rotary Foundation is an important component of our organization. It is through The Rotary Foundation that we, individually and as a group, can make a positive impact not only across the world but also locally. When you contribute to OUR foundation, the funds are put aside for three years while the income earned off those funds is used for administrative expenses. After three years, half the funds are used for international projects and the other half comes back to our district for local projects like our shelter at George Wythe State Park. The Rotary Foundation consistently receives the highest rating possible from GuideStar.
The Rotary Foundation honors members when they contribute by awarding Paul Harris Fellows at each $1,000 level of giving. It is always an honor to celebrate when one of our members has achieved a Paul Harris Fellow level, and we were thrilled to recognize this achievement by Bryan Burton at the last meeting.
Having aspired to become a Paul Harris fellow for several years, I am delighted to have achieved this milestone within my Rotary tenure.
