So many of you were good friends with Hovey Brom and have fond memories of him.  I first met Hovey in my first year at the County, we needed a new roof on one of our road department buildings, so I called a local architect.  I was struck by his energy and enthusiasm for our project.  I soon joined Rotary and got to know Hovey for his weekly songs and enthusiasm for music.  I know many of us enjoyed being led through the patriotic song, as well as the song he had composed just for our speaker that week. It was often funny and always creative.

Hovey was our longest tenured Rotarian at 61 years.  He spoke to our club many times, most recently shortly after COVID when we were online, when he spoke extensively and passionately about his time in the Army during World War II.

We will miss his passion and enthusiasm for so many things, particularly music and architecture.
