To avoid a dues increase, some programs may have to be trimmed back.

Among ideas being discussed to cut expenses is a proposal to reduce the number of students we send to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy next summer from two to one, saving $450. Some club members believe strongly in the program to the point that they could donate funds for a second scholarship.
Club leaders are also talking with members of Waterloo Leisure Services about reducing our contribution to summer youth programs. The club gave $2,200 last year.
We may have to reduce money we donate every year for college scholarships because of fewer members and several current members not donating at all. If this is a program you want to see continue, please make an effort to contribute, even if you are not at the first meeting of the month when Mason Fromm announces your birthday.
