NEW MEETING LOCATION MONDAY
by Mason Fromm

We will have an exclusive tour of the new Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum Monday, February 2nd.

A box lunch from Gary's will be served, and there is a $5 discounted admission.  We need an acurate head count for the box lunches, so please RSVP online or call the Rotary office before 10AM Monday.

Fellow Rotarian and Mayor Tim Hurley reminded our club that there is extensive free parking under the overpass conveniently located right accross Washington from the museum.  You are to use the beautiful new entrance facing downtown, and a discounted admission of $5 will help offset expenses (the museum is normally closed on Mondays)

Please arrive early, we will begin the meeting at 12:10, and you may want to stay past 1:00 to explore the musuem.

Meet Newest Member Dr. Stacy Carlin
by Todd Rohlfsen

President Mason welcomed our newest member at the January 26th meeting, our only chiropractor!

Dr. Carlin was proposed by past president Steve Schmitt, and has recently opened her new business Family Health Chiropractic at 203 East Tower Park Drive.  She invited fellow Rotarians to her open house Saturday February 7th.

As an incentive to our members to "Get Their ASK In Gear", the board of directors has approved a $50 refund of quarterly dues for any member who proposes a new member who is inducted into our club.  So, Steve, you're buying the first round!

Our club will host the surrounding Rotary club members at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center for a special "All-Rotary" program.  We're planning details right now, and your help would be appreciated - please email Kelli or Mason to lend a hand.

Foundation Giving Slow in First 6 Months
by Buck, David

Members of our club gave $7,659 to the Rotary Foundation in the six month period ending December 31. The total included $3,556 to restricted giving and $4,103 to the annual programs fund.

Our club has set a goal for the year of $18,000 to the annual programs fund; that amounts to $90 per member and so far we're at only $21 per member. The per capita goal doesn't include gifts that are restricted. Most of the restricted gifts are earmarked for polio eradication.

Cedar Rapids Rotary has 294  members and leads the district with $5,000 in restricted giving and $8,750 in total giving.
