Take the last day of summer to gather with family and friends...if you are lucky enough to have this "day off", please remember the social and economic contributions of American workers. In the late 19th century, municipalities and states began recognizing a specific day to honor the labor of American workers, and celebrate improvements to working conditions, shortened work days, and establishing "weekends".
